KATHMANDU, May 29: The Council of Ministers has approved the budget speech for the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2026/27.
A Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Balen Shah held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar on Friday endorsed the budget draft presented by Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle.

With the Cabinet’s approval, the budget has obtained legal and constitutional validity ahead of its formal presentation in Parliament.
Finance Minister Wagle is scheduled to present the national budget at 4 pm today during a joint session of the federal parliament.
He had arrived at the Cabinet meeting with the final budget document and related papers from the Ministry of Finance prior to its endorsement.
