KATHMANDU, June 28: CPN-UML Chair and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the recent "Gen-Z movement" was part of a conspiracy to weaken Nepal's left movement and democratic system.
Addressing a programme organized by the Madan Bhandari Foundation in Kathmandu on Sunday, Oli alleged that the political developments of Bhadra 23 and 24 were orchestrated to undermine leftist forces and democracy.

He argued that a constitutionally formed government had been removed through unconstitutional means, saying such a process could not be regarded as a democratic practice. According to Oli, the formation, change or removal of a government should take place only through Parliament under constitutional provisions.
He further claimed that bypassing Parliament and interfering in the constitutional process had weakened democratic norms and constitutional governance.
