KATHMANDU, March 12: Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of the main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre), has announced that millions of people will take to the streets to protest against monarchists.
Dahal made this statement on Sunday regarding the welcome and demonstration organized by supporters of former King Gyanendra in Kathmandu after his one-month stay in Pokhara.
Alert, more alert

Dahal said, “Various corrupt and opportunistic elements are attempting to undermine the system and seize the rights of the people under various pretexts. It is the responsibility of the Maoists to eliminate all such conspiracies in their buds and protect the rights won by the people, and we will not be distracted in this.”
“During the democratic revolution, the concept of the right to self-determination and the ethnic regional front was important. However, now, in the socialist revolution, it seems uncertain whether it still holds significance. However, our recent central committee meeting has concluded that this is even more necessary during the socialist revolution.”
“Now we have adopted a policy of strengthening all ethnic regional fronts by reviving even the inactive fronts. We will gradually make all fronts active through gathering conferences. Accordingly, we have held conferences for Tamang, Gurung, Tharu and Magar fronts, and we will continue to hold gathering conferences for the remaining fronts.”
