KATHMANDU, March 6: Bishnu Giri, the Gandaki Province Vice President and Syangja District President of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has been arrested on rape charges. Police apprehended him from Syangja on Tuesday.
According to the Syangja District Police Office, Giri was arrested based on an arrest warrant issued by the Kaski District Court. Following his arrest, the court granted police a six-day extension to conduct further investigations.

The arrest order was issued on February 14 in connection with a rape case.
