District Police Chief SP Yogendra Kumar Khadka said monitoring has been prioritized in areas bordering India due to potential security challenges. “So far, the security situation appears normal,” he said, adding that the presence of candidates from major political parties is expected to help maintain stability.
Out of a total of 312 polling stations across the district, 158 have been listed as highly sensitive, while 131 have been categorized as sensitive.
Constituency No. 4 has also emerged as a major political focal point. With Thapa’s candidacy, the electoral contest in the area has become more intense. Amar Kumar Singh, who won the 2079 House of Representatives election as an independent candidate, is contesting this time as a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
