Jayaram Shrestha is third at two-under 70, while three pros Surya Prasad Sharma, Bal Bhadra Rai and Ram Krishna Shrestha shared the fourth position at one-under 71. Sanjay Lama, Dinesh Prajapati and Rame Magar were tied for the seventh position at even-par 72.Bhuwan shot five-under 31 on the front nine before playing one-over 37 on the back nine. He started the round with a birdie on the first hole and carded four more on the fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth holes. On the back nine, Bhuwan suffered a double bogey on the par-3 16th and carded a birdie on the 18th hole.
Nepal No 1 pro Shiva Ram played one-under 35 on the front nine and carded three-under 33 on the back nine. He also started the round with a birdie on the first hole but faced a bogey on the seventh. He then carded a birdie on the ninth hole to take the turn at one-under 35. On the back nine, Shiva Ram carded birdies on the 12th, 14th and 15th holes for a three-under 33.
In the amateur section, Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi is at the top of the leaderboard with the score of three-over 75, while Prithivi Malla is second at five-over 77. Tenzing Tsering is third at nine-over 81.
A total of 39 players - 30 pros and nine amateurs - are taking part in the inaugural event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2015-16 under the sponsorship of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Cut will be applied after the second round and top 21 plus ties will make it to the final two rounds. The tournament carries a total purse of Rs 540,750. Top three pros will receive Rs 100,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 45,000 respectively. Others in the top 21 will also get their share of cash prizes.
