Speaking to media persons in Biratnagar, Koirala claimed NC has been unable to come up with its stance in writing on whether the country should go for fresh polls or Constituent Assembly reinstatement even though 70 per cent of the party’s central working committee members have already agreed for new elections. “Deuba and Paudel ji fell into the trap of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s trick,” Koirala said. “But in case the CA is revived, Dahal himself will become the PM, and this is something they need to understand.”
Stressing that the party is clearly in favor of new CA elections, Koirala also said if consensus is forged within mid mid-November, his party is ready to accept the government leadership under any party except the Maoist party.
“Maoists’ main goal is to capture state powers. That’s why they should be leading the new government, “ the NC leader added.
