KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Captain of the Nepali national men’s cricket team, Rohit Kumar Paudel, has expressed confidence that the team will rise to the occasion and make Nepal proud at the upcoming World Cup.
Paudel said the players are committed to giving their best on the field to live up to the expectations of Nepali fans. “We will give our hundred percent on the field and make Nepalis and Nepali cricket fans proud,” he said in a video message released by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

The Nepali national team is currently in Mumbai, India, where it is engaged in a series of practice matches as part of its World Cup preparations.
Last week, Nepal played a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka ‘A’, managing one victory. The team will now face the MCA President’s XI in three additional T20 practice matches in Mumbai. According to CAN, Nepal will also play warm-up matches against the UAE and Canada.
“Our preparation for the World Cup has been very good,” Paudel said. “The practice matches are giving us valuable exposure, which is helping us become stronger as a team.”
Nepal will open its World Cup campaign against England on February 8.
The Men’s T20 World Cup is being jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
