PM Koirala urges all to unite to face devastation

KATHMANDU, May 26: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has urged one and all to be united with passion to face the devastation occurred due to the quake.

Receiving a check equivalent to Rs 280,000 collected from Nepalis residing in United States, by 'uskhabar.com' as relief to quake survivors, Prime Minister Koirala said that the problems would be resolved soon if we all unite to face it.


Stating that the relief amount deposited in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Rescue and Relief Fund has been utilized in a transparent manner, he expressed the commitment that stern action would be taken against those misusing the fund.

The Prime Minister said that the government has adopted the one-door system in the rescue and relief task in order to provide the relief materials to all quake survivors in the affected districts.

On the occasion, PM Koirala thanked all those providing support to the fund. The relief amount was handed over at the coordination of the Nepal Press Union.

Meanwhile, Minister for Energy, Radha Gyawali, handed over the cheques, on behalf of Nepal Electricity Authority equivalent to Rs 25 million, of Rs 500,000 of NEA employees, of Rs 20 million of Chilime Hydropower Project and of Rs 5 million of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project, to the Prime Minister today.

Similarly, Ncell handed over Rs 100 million, Dabur Nepal Rs 10 million and Asian Paints Rs 1,111,111 to the Prime Minister.

Likewise, Employees of the Asian Paints provided cheques equivalent to Rs 711,111, Aananda Sangh Pulahari Monastery a cheque equivalent to Rs 3 million, the Karuna Foundation a check of Rs 500,000 and the Sapkota Samaj, Itahari, cheque of Rs 100,000 to PM Koirala. RSS
