Party leader Min Bishwakarma said the delegation specifically sought a halt or postponement to the January 20 deadline for parties to submit candidacies for the March 5 House of Representatives elections.

The move comes after the EC recognized the executive committee led by Gagan Thapa, elected through the party’s Special General Convention. In protest, the Deuba faction has filed a writ at the Supreme Court against the EC’s decision, with the hearing also set for January 20.
