KATHMANDU, July 3: Efforts have begun to bring into Nepal the 30 million UAE dirhams, equivalent to Rs 1.23 billion, won in a lottery by five Nepali youths working in the United Arab Emirates.
The winners are Taiyab Khan of Gorkha, Sandip BK of Palpa, Yubaraj Gaire of Nawalpur, Shishir Paudel of Kaski, and Sudip Neupane of Rupandehi.

The five visited the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to discuss how to legally and securely transfer the prize money to Nepal.
During a meeting with Nepal's Ambassador to the UAE, Tej Bahadur Chhetri, the winners expressed their intention to invest the money in Nepal. According to the embassy, they requested assistance in transferring the lottery winnings through legal channels in line with Nepal government's policies and in facilitating productive investment of the funds.
Congratulating the winners, Ambassador Chhetri pledged that the embassy would provide the necessary coordination and support throughout the legal process of remitting the money to Nepal.
He also encouraged them to explore investment opportunities that contribute to Nepal's development and economic prosperity. Chhetri advised the group to make productive use of the capital by investing in projects that generate employment and support the country's long-term economic growth.
