Former Madhesh CM and Speaker resign to contest HoR polls

On Monday, former CM Satish Kumar Singh and former Speaker Ramchandra Mandal submitted their resignation letters to the Madhesh Provincial Assembly. Both have resigned in order to contest the House of Representatives (HoR) election.

JANAKPURDHAM, Jan 19: Former Madhesh Province Chief Minister (CM) and Speaker have resigned from their posts as members of the Provincial Assembly.



On Monday, former CM Satish Kumar Singh and former Speaker Ramchandra Mandal submitted their resignation letters to the Madhesh Provincial Assembly. Both have resigned in order to contest the House of Representatives (HoR) election.

Mandal was elected from Dhanusha constituency no. 1 (B) representing the CPN-UML, while Singh was elected from Saptari constituency no. 2 (A) representing the Janamat Party.


Singh has already announced his candidacy from Saptari constituency no. 2 under the Swabhiman Party. The CPN-UML is preparing to field Mandal as its candidate from Dhanusha constituency no. 1.
