KATHMANDU, Jan 2: The Rotaract Club of Dilli Bazaar, one of the youth wings of Rotary Club International, came together with the NGO Offset Nepal this year to work on their annual Special Area Project (SAP).

Under it, they selected one of the underprivileged parts of the country, identified the necessities of the people there and supplied resources needed by them. [break]

This time their destination was Matri Bal Griha Orphanage at Nagarjun of Thula Gaon in Jitpur Phedi, and the charity function was scheduled for Saturday, December 31, 2011.

They found out that the children at the orphanage were deprived of extracurricular activity materials. So Rotaract Club handed over some sports equipment and creative story books and Offset Nepal presented two musical instruments to them with a pledge that they will also come to teach them the basics which made the children ecstatic.

In addition to these surprises, the Lions Club has also sent them some clothes which made them jump with joy.

“We Rotaracts experience sublime things when we get an opportunity to help people. We love socializing like the rest of the society, but for us socialization is going to the root cause of the problem that people are facing and helping them in alleviating them,” shares Pragya Rimal, Community Service Director of Rotaract Nepal.

Suyog Dhakal, secretary of Offset Nepal, informs, “There are many undiscovered talents in these children who can be brought out if we give them the environment, so we are here to nourish it.”

The Offsetters also put up a play for these children, highlighting the importance of health and sanitation.
