KATHMANDU, April 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased marginally by 7.01 points to close at 2,696.23 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,689.22 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,704.81 points in the first 12 minutes. The index, however, reached the day’s low at 2,685.46 points when the trading time was left for the last hour. The market recovered around 11 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
Seven out of the 13 groups were the gainers. Non-life insurance surged 68.76 points, the largest of all. Of the losers, the ‘others’ index plunged by the highest of 26.16 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added 1.30 points. Daily turnover amount declined to Rs 7.26 billion from Rs 8.54 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 147 were gainers while 97 were registered as losers. Ngadi Group Power had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 594.15 million.
Corporate Development Bank Limited and Balephi Hydropower Limited by adding 10 percent in their market values were recorded as the topmost gainers. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 5.55 percent.
