KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Nepal and China on Saturday began their joint military exercise, the fifth edition of the “Sagarmatha Friendship Exercise.”
According to Nepal Army spokesperson Rajaram Basnet, the 10-day training in Kathmandu focus on disaster management, humanitarian assistance, and knowledge exchange between the two armies.

This is the third time Nepal is hosting the exercise. The first was held in April 2017, followed by another in 2019 in Nepal, while the 2018 edition took place in Chengdu, China. The exercise was halted in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nepal also conducts similar joint drills with countries including India and the United States.
