BIRGUNJ, Jan 30: Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic) Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar on Saturday termed the coalition of Upendra Yadav-led Madhesi People´s Rights Forum and Laxman Tharu-led Tharuhat Joint Struggle Committee (TJSC) an ´unnatural alliance´.

Addressing a function organized in Birgunj, Gachchhadar, who also holds the portfolio of deputy prime minister and ministry of physical planning and works, said the alliance was nothing but a game to hoodwink ordinary people.

MPRF and TJSC on Wednesday announced joint protests for a single province from Kanchanpur in the west to Jhapa in the east, protesting a CA committee report that conceptualizes two provinces -- Tharuhat and Madhes -- in the southern plain.

Gachchhadar argued that he cannot be compared with Upendra Yadav. "There is no existence of Upendra Yadav now," he said, adding "He [Yadav] has been left alone. Now he is looking for a crutch."

Gachchhadar, who reached Birgunj with five ministers of the party including state minister Karima Begum, said media had unnecessarily hyped the issue of Begum slapping then CDO of Parsa. "If the Maoists who killed people are given pardon why is Begum criticized time and again?" he asked. It was Begum´s first Parsa visit since she slapped the CDO some three months ago.
