KATHMANDU, April 15: A total of 49,832 real estate transactions were recorded across Nepal in the month of Chaitra (mid-March to mid-April) of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2081/82.
This marks an 8.18 percent increase compared to the previous month, Falgun (mid-February to mid-March), when 46,061 transactions were recorded. Revenue generated from real estate transactions also saw a rise of 6.66 percent in Chaitra compared to Falgun.
Real estate transactions rise by 20 percent in Kathmandu

While the government collected Rs 4.12 billion in revenue from real estate transactions in Falgun, the figure rose to Rs 4.39 billion in Chaitra. In Chaitra of the previous year, a total of 50,252 real estate transactions were recorded across the country. These transactions generated Rs 3.94 billion in revenue for the government.
The government collects revenue from real estate transactions under various headings such as service tax, registration fees, capital gains tax, and others. Among these, the highest revenue is generated from registration fees and capital gains tax.
