Under the provision, employees can join the Social Security Fund by contributing based on at least 60 percent of their current salary, considered the basic salary. Employers must contribute 20 percent, while employees must contribute 11 percent of the designated salary.
Although the government made the decision on March 28, it took effect after the publication of the notice on the first day of the new year. The move aims to bring relief to temporary and wage-based staff working under government institutions.
