Man, daughter freed from abductors

ITAHARI, Dec 12: Police have rescued a man and his daughter abducted from Mauli, Saptari for a ransom of Rs 200,000 early Monday morning.



Police rescued Mohammad Kailam, 34, and his four-year-old daughter Roshan Khatun from a buffalo shed in Sripur-2, Sunsari at three in the morning, an hour after the duo was abducted from their home in Mauli-6. [break]



The police team from Sunsari rescued the duo immediately after buffalo-trader Kailam called home asking his family members to come with Rs 200,000 to secure their release.



The police have detained three persons, including two Indian nationals, and vehicles used in the abduction. Nabin Yadav, 32, of Rampur, Malhaniya-9, Saptari, and Mohammad Mojebul, 24, and Subeb Alam, 27, of Supoul, India, have been arrested.



A four-wheeler with Indian number plate (BR 50 A 1627) and a motorcycle (Ko 3 Pa 13) were also seized, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yamuna Razak.



The arrested trio have been handed over to the Saptari Police. According to Superintendent of Police Ganesh Thapa, the Chief of Saptari Police, the three are professional kidnappers.
