The Himtal Hydropower Company Ltd. had worked for the DPR of the project and has already submitted it to the Ministry of Energy and Department of Electricity.
The company also completed a hearing public in Syange Bazaar in Lamjung a few months ago.
The company allocated Rs. 22 million for monitoring after the project and Rs 19.6 million for test after the completion of the project. The project needs 67.87 hectares of public land except the government land and people are happy that they will get good compensation for the land from the experience of the Mid-Marsyangdi Project.
The Upper Marsyangdi-2 project was started for 250 mw but it was found 600 mw capacity during DPR making, said the technicians.
The Tamu National Liberation Front close to UCPN-Maoist had stopped works saying the project was against national interests but was completed after the Front and Maoist leaders allowed for the EIA.
Some 80 percent of the Himtal shares are bought by Indian company GMR. Power will be generated in Syange of Lamjung by bringing water from a11.2 km long underground tunnel with dam in Tal the border of Manang and Lamjung districts.
Although the DPR and EIA have been completed, the Himtal has not so far got the power generation license from the Government of Nepal.
