During the talks, PM Oli thanked his counterpart Modi for welcoming the Nepal government’s move to forward the constitution amendment bill tabled at the parliament in a bid to address the demands of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front.
The conversation was focussed on how to make the bilateral relation cordial between Nepal and India.
On the occasion, Oli told his counterpart Modi that he is effortful to make the Nepal-India relation a cordial one.
"Drawing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attention to the supply crunch, PM Oli urged him to ease the supply through Raksaul-Birgunj checkpoint. In reply, Modi said he is always in favor of smooth supplies of petroleum products in Nepal and reiterated that India has not blocked the supplies."
"There have been smooth supplies through all the check-points except Raxaul-Birgunj check-point because some political parties of Nepal have been staging protests there," said PM's press advisor Pramod Dahal in a statement today.
Oli also reminded that he had instructed Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to deliver necessary medicines during the shortage of medicine in Nepal.
Accepting the invitation of India visit, Oli assured Modi that he will visit India after the situation comes to normal," the statement said.
