KATHMANDU, March 31: A low pressure area developed in the hills of central and eastern region, increasing the chances of rainfall in those areas, predicts Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) on Thursday.

The MFD of the Department of Hydrology and Metrology also forecasted thunder and rain in the eastern and the central region. "There is also high chances of hailstorm, strong wind and rainfall in the eastern region," Min Kumar Aryal, a meteorologist at the MFD, said.
He anticipates rainfall in most places of the eastern region, and in the Kathmandu Valley. According to meteorologist Aryal, brief rainfall is likely to occur in western tarai.
