The meeting took place at the Ministry of Peace, Singha Durbar, focused on the issues relating to breaking the present political deadlock in the country and formation of the government of national consensus. [break]
During the meeting, both the leaders agreed on giving a way out to the nation from the existing political and constitutional crisis before the Tihar festival, it is learnt.
They also exchanged views about the promulgation of new constitution by incorporating the settled issues with the reinstatement of the parliament and also held discussions about going for fresh people´s mandate if that would not be possible.
The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman stressed the reinstatement of the parliament as far as possible and proposed to go for fresh election if it would not be possible.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, leader Khanal said the possibility of the CA reinstatement and holding fresh election was fifty-fifty and further discussions about the matters would be held within the party.
Prior to this, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal had met CPN (UML) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter´s residence at Koteshwor also.
The meeting focused on the issues of CA reinstatement and formation of the national consensus government to give an outlet to the country from the present crisis.
Talking to media persons briefly after the meeting, leader Nepal stressed the need of going for fresh people´s mandate, keeping in mind the special situation in the country.
