Complaints filed against five HoR election candidates

Election Commission has registered complaints against candidates for the House of Representatives election including Rajiv Khatri, Januka Pathak, Lal Bikram Thapa, former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Resham Chaudhary.

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Complaints have been lodged against five candidates who filed direct candidacies for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.



The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday confirmed that claims and objections have been formally registered against candidates in several districts.

According to EC , complaints have been filed against Rajiv Khatri of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from Bhaktapur Constituency–2, and Januka Pathak of the Nepal Janasewa Party from the same constituency.


Similarly, objections have been registered against Lal Bikram Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party from Sunsari Constituency–2, Madhav Kumar Nepal of the Nepali Communist Party from Rautahat Constituency–1, and Resham Chaudhary of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Nepal, from Kailali Constituency–1.


The EC stated that the complaints will be reviewed in accordance with prevailing electoral laws and procedures.
