Commissioner Baral's tenure is expiring within a week. Baral has filed his writ petition against the Office of the Constitutional Council, Council Secretary, CIAA and Commission Secretary.
On January 10, 2010, Baral had been appointed as a commissioner at the CIAA. His appointment had been on hold with all the posts of the commissioners including that of Chief Commissioner lying vacant. Baral took charge as a commissioner only after Lokman Singh Karki was appointed as the Chief Commissioner on May 8, 2013.

On November 30, Baral had filed the writ petition claiming that his appointment had been effective only from May 8, 2013. In the writ petition, he has demanded extension of his tenure until May 2019.
