KATHMANDU, May 7: Australia has extended AUD 10 million in emergency assistance and relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nepal.
According to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Australia, Australian Aid is working closely with its humanitarian partners, including Plan International, World Vision, Oxfam, Save the Children, Caritas, Care, the Red Cross, and UN agencies to deliver the emergency assistance and relief supplies in water, sanitation and hygiene, shelter, health and protection.

Emergency shelter and hygiene kits have reached to over 5,000 vulnerable people in Deurali, Chhoprak, Simjung and Barpak villages of Gorkha apart from Bhaktapur, Kavre, Lalitpur, Sindhupalchawk and Kathmandu districts.
"Through SPRINT, Australia's funding has supported the provision of medical and reproductive health services to over 1,500 pregnant and lactatingwomen, and through Plan International over 2,300 families have received shelter and food," said the statement.
