KHOTANG, Jan 6: Buddhists distributed relief aid of Rs 5,000 with 50-kg rice each to fire victims in Halesi on Friday.
A fire that took place on last Tuesday night had destroyed entire property along with house of locals of Halesi Tuwachung municipality-7, Mahadevsthan.
Initiative underway to list Halesi as World Heritage Site
Earlier, the District Disaster Relief Committee, Red Cross, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, municipality and Khotang Natural Disaster Relief Fund, among other agencies had extended support to the fire survivors.
The municipality took initiative to collect relief for the rehabilitation of fire victim families.
The relief is being collected for the survivors in Kathmandu as well. The fire victims now are residing in makeshift huts constructed by the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force. (RSS)
