KATHMANDU, May 26: The Bagmati Province Government on Tuesday presented its policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27 in the Provincial Assembly.
Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota presented the government's policy and program rendering priority to infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, education, health, employment creation, environmental protection and good governance.

Similarly, the provincial government has set a goal to increase production, promote investment, youth self-employment, expand digital services and advance development programs in coordination with the local level.
The provincial government claims that realistic policies and programs have been brought keeping in mind the needs, resources and means of the province. According to the government, the program has been set to accelerate the economic and social development of the province in the coming year.
The opposition party leaders on the other hand have demanded that the provincial government bring concrete and result-oriented programs for economic crisis, unemployment, agricultural production, industrial operations, health services and education sector reforms. They have commented that the policies and programs lack new thinking, clear action plans and weak implementation bases.
