7 missing school children found

KOHALPUR, Jan 1: Police have rescued seven school children on Friday morning 20 hours after they went missing at Kohalpur, Banke.



The police found the seven children in a state of unconsciousness induced, as revealed by the children later, by intoxicating substances they had consumed on the way to their home from school.

"The school children, who had lost consciousness after consuming intoxicating substances, were rescued from Anandanmagar of Kohalpur," Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajeev Basnet said.


The six of the rescued children study at Real Heaven English Medium School and one goes to Phulbari Academy. The children range in age from five to 11. All the rescued children are from Kohalpur.


The police launched a search after the school children did not return home till late night.
