KATHMANDU, Jan 9: A storm of conflicting claims has erupted between two factions of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council in the US over Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta’s planned visit to the United States on January 16.

The controversy ignited after separate letters were circulated in the name of the NRNA, each presenting a different stance. Spokesperson Sandesh Upreti clarified that the organization has not invited any government minister to visit the U.S.

In response, NRNA Spokesperson Dron Gautam strongly denied Upreti’s claim, asserting that Minister Gupta was formally invited for interaction, considering Nepal’s changing political and social landscape and the national dynamics following the recent Gen Z movement.

Gautam emphasized that the organizers would cover all expenses, ensuring no financial burden on the Government of Nepal. He described the visit as a positive step to engage Nepali youth with the country’s development and urged the community to remain cautious of misleading commentary or rumors.
