The UML leader also requested the president not to endorse a full-fledged budget for new fiscal year if the government comes up with such budget without forging political consensus.

“The Maoist-led government has only caused troubles for the country. This government can’t bring a full budget,” Nepal told reporters, emerging from the meeting.

Nepal said only a national consensus government can provide an outlet for the current political imbroglio, adding that it is unwise to prolong the tenure of a government whose constitutional legitimacy is being questioned.

In response, President Yadav said he will act as per provisions in the interim constitution and stressed on consensus among political parties to diffuse the current crisis, according to Nepal.
