BUSINESS BRIEFS: IME opens office in Damak

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: International Money Express (IME), a remittance company, has opened another IME Center in Damak of Jhapa district. The new center was inaugurated by IME CEO Suman Pokharel amid a function held in Damak on Friday, according to a company statement.



With this addition, total number of IME centers in operation in the country has reached 35. IME Center is an exclusive agent outlet established to enhance IME customer experience through exquisite customer and retail services. IME intends to open 100 IME Centers within the current fiscal year. [break]



Everest to give away 30% bonus shares



KATHMANDU
: Everest Bank is giving away 30 percent dividend, in forms of bonus shares, to its shareholders. The decision was taken by a meeting of board of directors held on Thursday, says a bank statement. The bonus announced by the bank is the highest so far in its history. This decision will now be tabled during the bank´s annual general meeting and will be subject to approval of Nepal Rastra Bank as well. "The board was inclined to give away cash dividend to its shareholders.



But due to the latest central bank directive that requires banks to maintain minimum of 11 percent capital adequacy ratio following payment of dividend, the board, in spite of its desire, could not recommend payment of any cash dividend," says the statement. "However the monetary value of proposed 30 percent bonus shares is substantially higher than last year´s payment of 50 percent cash dividend and 10 percent bonus shares."



Him Electronics opens multi-brand



KATHMANDU
: Him Electronics on Friday inaugurated its multi-brand outlet at Civil Mall, Sundhara. The newly opened outlet has separate sections for products by Bajaj home appliances, Timex and Himstar. This is the first multi-brand showroom of Him Electronics -- the subsidiary of Golchha Organization. According to a statement, the Himstar section showcases Himstar home appliances which are available in price range of Rs 1,345 to Rs 42,100.



Similarly, the Bajaj World section has on display electrical and home appliances by Bajaj. These products are priced between Rs 1,320 and Rs 7,000. The ´Timex Time Factory´ section features watches in Timex´s Nautica, Marc and Helix series. These watches are available in different color options and priced between Rs 1,800 and Rs 33,800, the statement added.



Harati Foundation supports Aamaghar



KATHMANDU
: Harati Foundation has announced to provide necessary food commodity to Aamaghar (mother´s home) - a home for underprivileged children and elderly for a year. Issuing a press statement, the foundation said Gobinda Das Shrestha and social worker Dilshobha Shrestha signed an agreement to this connection on Friday. As per the agreement, the foundation will provide 300 kg of rice on monthly basis to Aamaghar. At the program, Shrestha also handed over 300 kg rice for the month of October to Aamaghar.
