KATHMANDU, October 13: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed cases against seven officials of Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot and a construction company on charge of corruption involving construction of roads in Mid-western region of Nepal.
According to the CIAA, it filed cases at the Special Court, Kathmandu against the accused for misappropriation of Rs 8.153 million during construction of a road stretch of Ranagaun-Neti Bazaar. The anti-graft body has sought to recover an equivalent amount in total from the individuals.
Former Officiating Chief of Bheri Municipality Dal Bahadur Gharti along with seven officials of the local body and Nirman Sewa Company have been accused of the misappropriation.
