KATHMANDU, March 31: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday filed a case against 13 officials of Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap, on charge of misappropriating state funds worth Rs 42.10 million.
The anti-graft body said it filed a charge-sheet against the accused at the Special Court in Kathmandu. Govinda Bahadur Khadka, Chairman of the rural municipality, is among the accused in the corruption case.

The officials concerned of the local body are found breaching the existing laws while awarding contracts of electrification projects being expanded in Duragaun of ward number 1, Bijulikot of Ward number 4 and Nagdaha of ward number 5 of Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality. The accused have been charged for embezzling the aforementioned amount while purchasing the logistics like transformers, ACSR conductor and electric poles, among others, via consumer committees.
