KATHMANDU, March 22: Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani has resigned from his position as the chairperson of the Director Committee of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
Lohani submitted his resignation letter to RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden on Sunday, citing the party’s defeat in the recent general elections, internal challenges, and other factors as reasons for his decision.
Lohani elected to lead Budokai karate
In the letter, he noted that the party’s current state and the demand of the time prompted his decision to step down. He urged the party leadership to immediately facilitate the formation of an interim committee aligned with public sentiment and to proceed with the next general convention.
Lohani clarified that he would only return to party duties if assigned responsibilities by the upcoming convention, otherwise he has withdrawn from all posts.
Calls for party leadership to take corrective measures following the March 5 election results have been growing louder within the RPP.
