KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Parbat Gurung today said the ministry would formulate next fiscal year's action plan targeting people with disabilities.
"People with disabilities will be included in the process to prepare the action plan next fiscal year. Physical infrastructures to be constructed will be differently-abled people friendly," he said addressing an event organised here on the occasion of the 13th establishment day of the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN).

Similarly on the occasion, the NFDN president Bal Krishna Gaire stressed the need for the governments of all levels, federal, state and local, to unite to address problems of the people with disabilities.
Stating that out of the total disabled people, 50 percent are related to physical disabilities, and they are dealing with many problems in rural areas, he asked the local government to focus on it. The NFDN vice president Ram Prasad Dhungana underscored the need for the government to be serious on directing construction of disabled people friendly physical infrastructures.
Other speakers demanded that the government makes necessary arrangements under the people's housing programme for the people with disabilities who are homeless wanting to make ends meet and manage programmes to provide education, health service, social security, health and life insurances and pension they are entitled to.
They also drew the attention of the government to direct making public transport and information technology disabled people friendly and implementing the practice.
