MCA-Nepal invites bids for recycling pilot works on Dhan Khola-Lamahi Road

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA)-Nepal has stepped up to carry out its road maintenance project.


Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the MCA-Nepal in this regard called for bids to work on its Recycling Pilot Works Contract of the 40 km road section of Dhan Khola of Lamahi. According to the MCA-Nepal, the selected contractor will have to work on pavement rehabilitation using full depth reclamation; soil cement stabilization and superpave asphalt.

Giving a deadline of December 16, the US-funded project has invited applications from the eligible contractors. The procurement process will be conducted through the competitive bidding method as specified in the Accountable Entity Procurement Policy and Guidelines (PPG), according to the MCA-Nepal.  


The MCA-Nepal has been mobilizing a US $ 500 million grant from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The Government of Nepal has injected $197 million to execute projects related to electricity transmission lines and road maintenance.
