Miss World Nepal 2019 Anushka Shrestha has been announced the winner of ‘Beauty With A Purpose' (BWAP) Award at the Miss World 2019. With her achievement, Nepal has won BWAP award for third time; after Ishani Shrestha in 2013 and Shrinkhala Khatiwada in 2018, in the competition.

Along with BWAP award, she also won Multimedia Award and Head to Head challenge, which secured her position among top 40 contestants before the final event. According to the Miss World website, BWAP is the highest recognition a contestant can achieve in Miss World. It added, “Every year contestants are asked to work for a project that helps the people in their home countries. This gives thousands of young women every year, the opportunity to use their abilities to make a real and lasting contribution to the lives of the sick and disadvantaged children.”
Anushka choose to work towards creating a visible and sustainable improvement in the quality of education of children, by mainly focusing on economic upliftment of mothers through livelihood generation, through multifaceted community upliftment program that aims to create a sustainable and duplicable development model.
However, Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica bagged the title of Miss World 2019 held in London on Saturday.
