KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Minister for Health and Population Dr Sudha Sharma has said that investment in women education must be increased for better health awareness.
Addressing a programme organized by the Kanya Mandir Secondary School on Sunday, Minister Sharma viewed women education as instrumental in wiping out backwardness from family, society and nation. "Kanya Mandir has a significant role in women literacy and empowerment," she observed, adding that it has produced thousands of students who later excelled in medicine, administration, industry, engineering and teaching.

On the occasion, Minister Sharma handed over financial help of Rs 500,000 to some of the best students of Grade 11 and 12 in the school.
Chairman of the Management Committee and Spokesperson at Kathmandu metropolitan city Nabin Manandhar said the Kanya Mandir is an esteemed school, producing excellent students. Teachers have high morale due to smooth management, according to him.
Principal Ghanashyam Neupane informed that the school was one of the popular educational institutes in the Kathmandu Valley due to the collective efforts of the management committee, teachers, students and employees.
There are 1,200 girl students in the school located at Chhetrapati, Kathmandu-17.
