With 39 new cases in last 24 hours, Gandaki Province’s COVID-19 tally reaches 2,205

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: With 39 new cases of COVID-19 detected in the past 24 hours, the number of COVID-19 infected people in Gandaki Province now stands at 2,205.


According to a press statement issued by the Health Directorate Office under the Ministry of Social Development of the province, 39 new cases of COVID-19 were detected through tests conducted at PokharaTuberculosis Treatment Center and Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences.


Of the newly-infected people, 26 are from Lamjung, 10 from Nawalpur, one from Baglung and two from Kaski districts.

Most of these new cases were detected in course of contract tracing.


With 26 new cases of COVID-19 witnessed on Tuesday, the COVID-19 tally of Lamjung district has jumped to 215. As many as 113 COVID-19 patients have returned home after successful recovery, according to Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Sharma.


As of Tuesday morning, 102 individuals are currently staying in isolation in Lamjung.
