While I gazed deep through that window pane,
Oh! love drove my vision towards you,
I felt your beauty growing insane,
I couldn’t turn away from that view.
While I was watching you through that pane,
Mesmerized by that free hair swinging left and right,
Your shoes tenderly footed the lane.
You were the charm of that shimmering light.
Though you scarcely glanced back towards where stood I,
Your fringed hair at the rear stared at my heart.
While you talked mutely, I felt you when you sighed,
Oh! That muteness launched a painful dart.
Still, through that window I kept watching you,
I compared and compared, none were to your match,
You left a pang, eloped from my view,
All I managed to do was watch.
