KATHMANDU, May 23: CPN United Socialist Party has decided to take the initiative to remove the deadlock in Parliament. The party’s spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada said that the secretariat meeting of the CPN Unified Socialist held at the party office in Alok Nagar decided to discuss the matter to clear the deadlock with the prime minister, home minister and the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC).

The NC has been obstructing the House meetings demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe committee against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in the co-operative fraud case.

Even though the ruling party is ready to form a committee, they have not been able to agree on the Terms of Reference (TOR). The NC has taken the position that the committee should be formed by maintaining the name of the home minister in the mandate.

Spokesperson Khatiwada said that the meeting discussed all aspects of arrangements for the preparation of the party’s convention, including food, accommodation and promotion.
