UML lawmaker Giri's right leg amputed

KATHMANDU, March 21: The right leg of CPN UML lawmaker Dulari Devi Giri has been amputed at B and B hospital at Gwarko Lalitpur.

KATHMANDU, March 21: The right leg of CPN UML lawmaker Dulari Devi Giri has been amputed at B and B hospital at Gwarko Lalitpur.


Giri, originally from Sarlahi, sustained injuries to her legs in an accident that took place on March 19 when the bike she was riding on was hit by a truck at Ram Narayan Chowk in Sitamadhi of India.

Giri had been elected to the Legislature-Parliament through proportional representative system representing CPN UML.


The accident occurred on March 19 while she was  was heading to  Sitamadhi of India on a motorbike to buy goods . In the accient, the truck driver died while she sustained serious injuries to her legs.


Her right leg has been amputed while her left fractured leg is being treated.
