KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The newly-elected lawmaker of CPN-UML Surya Thapa has said that it would be in the larger interest of people and the country if the Nepali Congress (NC) and the UML– the first and second largest political parties in the House of Representatives (HoR)-- join hands to form a new government.

Talking to media persons after taking oath of office and secrecy as a lawmaker on Thursday, lawmaker Thapa said that it would be appropriate for the two major parties to join hands to form a government for the political stability and long-term interests of the country. “Since NC and UML are the two largest political parties in parliament, it will be beneficial for the long-term stability in the country as well,” he said.
