KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Two complaints have been filed against Nripa Dhwoj Niroula, proposed for the position of Supreme Court Justice.
According to Nirmala Devi Lamichhane, the joint secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, two complaints have been filed within the designated time.
Former DIG Niroula arrested
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee had called for complaints against the proposed justices Niroula and Nityanand Pandey for the Supreme Court on October 1. Within the designated time, complaints were filed against Niroula.
One complaint was submitted via email, while the other was submitted in person. According to sources, one complaint against Niroula is related to the construction of the Supreme Court building, and the other concerns the appointment process.
The Nepal Bar Association protested the judicial appointment process, claiming that the appointments were not made according to the constitution and the law. The complaints are related to this issue.
