Thapa, who is also the chairman of royalist Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N), said they met Bhattrai to enquire about his health condition. [break]
"We did not hold any specific talks on politics; we just talked about social things," said Thapa, who has vociferously been demanding constitutional monarchy and Hinduism as state religion in Nepal.
The meeting between the royalists and Bhattarai has ignited some curiosity in the political circle of Kathmandu as Bhattarai has also lately spoken in favor of constitutional monarchy.
Giri was vice-chairman in the cabinet formed in the aftermath of royal putsch in 2005, while Thapa was home minister in the same cabinet.
