KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The last rites for Former Prime Minister Dr Tulsi Giri has been scheduled for Wednesday at Pashupati Aryaghat at 3 pm, according to his wife Saraha Giri.
Giri, who had been suffering from liver cancer, passed away on Tuesday morning. Giri will be cremated through electric crematorium as per his wish, his wife said.

Giri breathed his last at his Budhanilkantha-based residence in the capital this morning. He was 93. Cancer-ridden Giri had been discharged from Medicity hospital after treatment on Saturday. He served as the first prime minister of Nepal when the then King Mahendra imposed the party-less Panchayat political system back in 1960.
Giri served as the vice chair of the council of ministers under the direct regime of Former King Gyanendra in 2005. He was born in Siraha in 1926. He studied at the Suri Vidyasagar College, Calcutta in India.
Giri is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
