KATHMANDU, Dec 29: A cabinet meeting of yesterday decided to secretly provide Rs. 2.5 million to Dr. Tulsi Giri for treatment. Giri served as the vice chairman of the council of ministers during King Gyanendra’s rule.

A source close to the Prime Minister said that the cabinet had approved Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa’s proposal for the support. Earlier, the Office of the Prime Minister headed by CPN Maoist Center chairperson, Pushpa Kamal Dahal had also requested support from the state for Giri’s treatment.
