The committee had sent a letter to all local levels in the district on February 5 to close the illegally operated stone mines and crushers, but after they did not implement it, it decided to close the industries operating illegally on February 5. Accordingly, Panauti has conducted a monitoring and shut down the three industries today.

Meanwhile, it has been found that mining and crusher industries in other local levels are operating without implementing the committee's decision. After the floods and landslides of September end, the flow of the river changed its course, settlements were at risk, surrounding areas were also destroyed and swept away, and landslides occurred, and dust and mudslides increased the river level. The committee had requested the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority for a study, stating that a serious and detailed study should be conducted on all aspects of the settlement, mining, river forest area, and geological conditions in the current situation.

The local levels that were particularly affected by the floods, Panauti, Roshi, Bethanchowk, and Namobuddha, have the most crushers and mines. Before the disaster, out of the 13 local levels in the district, 14 mines and crushers were in operation in Panauti, five in Roshi, four in Namobuddha and Bhumlu, three in Bethanchowk, two in Mandan, and one each in Banepa, Temal, and Chauri.
