MAKWANPUR, April 13: One person died and two others were injured after being struck by lightning in Basantpur, Manahari Rural Municipality–5 of Makwanpur.
The incident occurred around 3:40 pm on Saturday while members of the same family were returning from a relative’s house in Dillipur to their home in Daradara. According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, Abiral Thing, 28, of Daradara died on the spot after being struck by lightning.

The deceased's 56-year-old father, Singh Bahadur Thing, along with 10-year-old Saugat Gole was injured in the incident.Police stated that Singh Bahadur is in moderate condition, while Saugat’s injuries are minor. Before the police team arrived at the scene, locals had already sent the injured to Chitwan for medical treatment.
Police have said that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
